Open to all LGBTQIA+ folks and their family, friends and allies. Free! Cookies and bottled water provided. We would like to thank the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant/Exelon for their generous donation of $1,000.00 to PFLAG Leonardtown which was presented to us at their Calvert Cliffs Pride event that was held June 20, 2019.
When Terri LeCroix and I were first invited to the launch of an LGBTQIA+ Ally program, we never imagined how wonderfully affirming the culture was going to be. They truly strive to create an atmosphere which promotes diversity and inclusivity. Their employees to senior/corporate management were gracious, kind and very supportive of the Ally Program as well as cultivating an inclusive work environment. It was an absolute joy to spend the afternoon with them and I personally look forward to partnering with Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant/Exelon in the future. A special thank you to Janna Jackson, their Communications Manager, for her steadfast work and dedication in bringing us together and assisting in cultivating a diverse work culture. Their donation will assist us in continuing to provide services and support to the LGBTQIA+ community, their families, friends and allies. Many thanks, ~ Louise Ball PFLAG Leonardtown President June is Pride month!!

Saturday, June 22, 2019 11am-3pm Calvert Marine Museum, Corbin Pavilion, Solomons, MD PFLAG Leonardtown will have a table at the event with a face painter! (To clarify: this is not a PFLAG Leonardtown event. But we encourage all to attend!) The Drag Queen Story Hour held at the Lexington Park Library on June 23, 2019 was a huge success. Thanks for the support of the Lexington Park Library and the St. Mary's County Sheriffs Office for your help in making this a successful and fun event for the attending families and their children.
Drag Queen Story Hour (DQSH) is just what it sounds like—drag queens reading stories to children in libraries, schools, and bookstores. DQSH captures the imagination and play of the gender fluidity of childhood and gives kids glamorous, positive, and unabashedly queer role models. In spaces like this, kids are able to see people who defy rigid gender restrictions and imagine a world where people can present as they wish, where dress up is real. We want to thank our sponsors for making our Spring Celebration Fundraiser a smashing success. We couldn't have done it without the help of some amazing organizations and individuals!
